The Summer of the Blog

I am nothing if not arbitrary. Why is July so much different from June? Why is June so much different from the last three months when I did not update my blog? Your guess is as good as mine. But when swift and decisive action is taken on my part, it is usually taken arbitrarily, and this case is no exception.

What is that messy preamble driving at? I decided toward the end of June that July would mark "the Summer of the Blog." During July, I am going to try to post something every day (except Sundays--blogging, for me, is work, and I try to remember the Sabbath).

Of course, it would happen that on my first day on the new plan, my home power is out, forcing me into a short update written hastily at work. So be it: the arbitrary dictate stands, and who am I to contradict it?

I can't guarantee an update-every-day policy is a recipe for great reading, but I do hope it gets me into a regular writing habit, even if it's just sharing and offering brief commentary on noteworthy articles of the day. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the Summer of the Blog.

(And please extend grace if I fail in these first few days: seriously, my power is out, and I'm working on getting a felled tree removed.)

  1. I'm looking forward to this "Summer of the Blog". We had some bad storms around here as well, though not too many power outages.

  2. Thanks! Now that I know someone is reading, I'll really have to keep up.

And I'm glad there weren't too many outages there. My mom lives on the other side of Indiana, and it got hit pretty bad, she said.
